Free Camping in the Edward River Council Area

Discover free camping locations across the Edward River Council area. Enjoy riverside campsites, RV-friendly facilities, country pub camping, and scenic nature reserves. Please help protect our environment while you visit.

Dogs: Dogs are welcome in designated camping areas. Please keep them under control at all times and clean up after them.

Campfires: A Solid Fuel Fire Ban applies in all NSW forests from 1 October to 31 March each year. Always check local fire restrictions before lighting a fire.

 

RV-Friendly Camping Sites in Deniliquin

The following designated RV sites allow stays of up to 72 hours:

 

Davidson Street RV Site, North Deniliquin

Location: 0.05 km from the Deniliquin CBD

Camping at Willoughby’s Beach, Deniliquin – please note there is a booking fee for National Parks.

Willoughby’s Beach sits within Murray Valley Regional Park on the banks of the Edward River. Access the area from End Street via Memorial Drive. The site connects to the Beach to Beach Walk and sits just a 10-minute walk from the CBD.

Important Information

  • There is a booking fee for National Parks
  • Suitable for tents, caravans, and RVs
  • Large caravans and motorhomes should use caution
  • Avoid camping beneath large red gum trees
  • Do not camp here during wet weather

Camping Restrictions

Camping is not permitted in adjoining Memorial Park, including the showgrounds and sporting facilities. Rangers patrol this area.

 

Free Camping at Twin Rivers Reserve, Deniliquin

Location: 5 km from the Deniliquin CBD. Twin Rivers Reserve sits on the banks of the Edward River and offers a peaceful bush camping experience among magnificent river red gums.
Access: Enter via Finley Road (Riverina Highway)

Country Pub Camping Near Deniliquin

Pretty Pine Hotel Camping

Location: 20 km from Deniliquin CBD. The Pretty Pine Hotel sits on the historic Long Paddock Touring Route. Once a stop for Cobb & Co coaches, it now offers a welcoming camping area suitable for large caravans and motorhomes.

Conargo

Bill’s Park, Conargo

Location: 34 km north of Deniliquin. Bill’s Park sits near Billabong Creek in the village of Conargo. The park honours former Conargo Shire Councillors Bill Lamb and Bill Bull.

Conargo Oval and Hall Camping Area

This attractive camping area offers excellent facilities and showcases the region’s rich history, including its contribution to Australia’s Merino sheep industry.

Visit the iconic Conargo Pub: The famous Conargo Pub reopened after a complete rebuild following the 2014 fire. It remains a popular stop for travellers exploring the region.

Location: 40 km north of Deniliquin on the Cobb Highway. Wanganella offers a peaceful, shaded camping area beside Billabong Creek, Australia’s longest creek.
