Shop Local, Taste Local: Deniliquin’s Markets & Makers

In Deniliquin, local markets aren’t just shopping spots—they’re a celebration of community, creativity, and country living. With a proud tradition of supporting local producers and artisans, the region offers a market experience full of charm, flavour, and genuine hospitality.

The Lions Community Market is held every 4th Saturday of the month in the beautiful Waring Gardens, right in the heart of Deniliquin’s CBD. This relaxed, leafy setting is the perfect backdrop for browsing stalls offering everything from home-baked sweets and savoury treats to jams, dips, and seasonal produce. You’ll also find a unique range of locally made goods including candles, jewellery, wooden products, honey, beeswax items, crochet crafts, sculptures, and seedlings.

On the 2nd Saturday of each month, head to Cressy Street for the Naponda Farmers Market—a lively gathering showcasing the best local flavours and handmade wares from across the region.

Every now and then, twilight markets light up the town, offering a magical evening atmosphere with live music, food trucks, and artisan stalls under the stars.

Special events throughout the year add even more variety to the local market scene. The much-loved Mother’s Day Market at the Deniliquin Showgrounds brings families together to celebrate and shop for thoughtful, handmade gifts. And just a short drive out of town, the iconic Pretty Pine Father’s Day Market at the Pretty Pine Recreation Reserve is a community highlight—offering a festive day out with food, stalls, and entertainment in a classic country setting.

Whether you’re picking up farm-fresh produce, searching for that perfect gift, or simply enjoying the friendly local vibe, Deniliquin’s markets are an essential part of the experience.
