Established in 1888 and named after Deniliquin's first Town Clerk, John Waring, the gardens began as a botanic testing ground for trees and shrubs suited to the local climate. Historic features like the band rotunda and creeper-covered fountain rotunda (erected in 1891) add to the charm. A footbridge enhances the scenic lagoon system that weaves through the town centre, and on the corner of Edwardes & Cressy Streets, you'll find the Three Muses—marble sculptures representing Art, Science, and Literature, originally crafted in Italy and restored in 1997.
